Mr. Tish is a real estate appraiser and forensic consultant who holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute. His experience includes commercial, industrial, residential, agricultural, undeveloped acreage, special purpose properties, and intangible property rights.

Mr. Tish serves attorneys, public agencies, developers, investors, and corporations, concentrating in the greater San Francisco Bay area. In addition to routine valuations, his assignments have included rent and sale arbitration, environmental impacts (e.g., flood or landslide damage, hazardous substance contamination), condemnation, easement valuation, life estates, casualty loss, estate tax valuation (including undivided minority interests and limited partnership interests), historic preservation and land conservation easements, property tax assessment appeals, and the appraisal of intangible property rights (e.g., covenants, conditions, and restrictions; transferable development rights; abutter's rights).

Special Qualifications

Mr. Tish specializes in appraisals for litigation, arbitration, dispute resolution, and estate and ad valorem tax valuation (property tax assessment appeals). He is highly qualified to provide valuations regarding construction defects, environmental risks, conservation and historic preservation easements, estate, gift, and income taxes, limited partnership interests, rent and sale arbitrations and casualty losses.

Career Experience

Mr. Tish has been a real estate appraiser since 1983 and has been a principal of a Bay Area real estate appraisal and consulting firm since 1995. Previous experience includes nine months with the Real Estate Industries Group of Wells Fargo Bank and three years with the appraisal and consulting firm of Kurt L. Reitman & Associates, in Palo Alto, California.

Mr. Tish entered college pre-med and ended up majoring in philosophy. After college, he worked in the building trades for 15 years, becoming a masonry contractor. His friends said he went from the abstract to concrete.
